Updates...

Joe's in school. The bus gets him at 7am, it's later than Horn Lake. I dropped a class so now I'm taking 4 -
Visual Basic
Operating Systems
Systems Analysis & Design
Professional Development

13 credit hours total

Beau Rivage has complete tuition rembursement so I'll start on my BA in the fall probably. Oh did I mention I started the job at Beau Rivage. Can't remember if I did and I'm too lazy to look. It's a lot different here. Table games has there own break room. Box people are on 2 hour strings like the floor - heh to all you whiny Horseshoe box people - OMG I'm in an hour give me a break.... you know who you are. The floor are totally responsible for everything. Fills, markers - none of it goes through the pit. I can comp basic food stuff, past that a casino host has to do it - hehe I like that part. Pit clerks have to come to us, no hunting them down and begging to get a card made for a player. We do keep up with drops but I've done it before. Players can NOT cuss dealers and can not use the F word outloud. No chewing tobacco or wait what I was actually told was no spitting. So if you don't mind swallowing that crap help yourself. Parking is horrible. The EDR is a hundred times better than the Shoe. I did get on day shift and time starts are all over the board from 9 to 1. Starting next week they're even going to let us full-timers have 2 days off in a row. Business is not what they anticipated. Warren says he's only got part-time dual rate spots left if anyone else wants to come down. Starting in Oct you can pick up days.

I'm trying to stay unstressed and Mark is really working hard to keep me that way. He is truely a wonderful man. I've got tons of school work to do but I bought a laptop off ebay so I can do some at work. I've pretty much lost my scared shitless, I want to go home thing. I'm the type of person who has to know where things are to be comfortable.

We have a fireplace in our house here but I don't see me getting to use it. No one seems to call now that we've moved. The phone number is still the same. Mom's called a couple of times but that's it and she usually calls every other day. Oh well I guess more getting use to. I can't think of anything us to ramble about. Traffic's bad like Southaven. Houses are expensive. Housing is hard to come by. The ocean is beautiful and there's nothing more wonderful than going outside on your break and watching it.

So I drug my butt out of the house today and headed out to Walmart. I went at about 8:15, thinking hey everyone's at church so no problem. Umm apparently I have moved OUTSIDE the bible belt. Everyone was out shopping and what not. Pretty wild. One cool thing was as I left and headed out to the parking lot, there were tons of seagulls flying around making cool seagull noises. Wish you guys could have been there it was pretty damn cool.

Oh and to all you people who kept telling me how damn hot it was down here - boy were you wrong. Not only is it a couple of degrees cooler but you get a breeze. Also we get these mini rain storms. Very dark grey clouds show up, it rains heavy for about 10 - 15 minutes then it just all disappears. Hell I'll never have to water the lawn again. Speaking of lawn - FIRE ANTS eek!

We went for a walk tonight around the neighborhood OMG everyone is so freaking friendly here. We passed a set of teenagers and they're polite and greet us, wow where have they been hiding these people??? At Walmart today this kid of about 10 is standing in the middle of the aisle. His Mom starts fussing at him to move so I can get by and THEN apologizes. Wow total shock - 'cause in Memphis the first thing they'd do is not give a shit. Different very different.

Well tomorrow I'm heading down to see about registering Joe for school. They started school on the 4th because kids down here get an extra 10 day vacation for get this - Mardi Gras. heh All we ever got was 1/2 a day for Fair Day.

Gulfport, MS Take 1...

For anyone moving here in the future, water is separate from other utilities (what an experience). We're in Gulfport now. The house is larger than I remember and with the one we moved from bwing so small we have a lot of empty space.
I got in touch Warren at the Beau, he offered me a job and I'm going to take it. So, this means I'll be out of work longer than I thought I would but it's a solid hourly job flooring. The more I think about it the more I don't think my wrists can handle dealing. Also, it's full time and I could really use the insurance. Money is going to be extremely tight but Mark should start work probably on Friday.
Packing and moving was a awful experience. I hurt everywhere and I stopped counting the bruises lol. My Mom was wonderful, she came down with us. Not only did she help us unload, she cut the grass for us before she left. Mark has nicknamed her DynoWoman because she was non-stop at working. It was amazing the amount of work she did.
I miss home. It's hard finding your way around on the side streets down here because the street signs were blown away. I really dislike not knowing where everything is. I know I'll get used to it but right now it's just adds on to the whole homesick thing. There is so much that has to be done... Cancel everything back home, start everything here. Change addresses on every freaking account you've ever had in your life... it's exhausting thinking about it. I need the house in Horn Lake to sell soon, it would help a lot.

Anxious, Nervous...Ugh

Damn 4:00 in the morning. I've slept 4 hours and my stomach is in knots. This is why people never move away from their hometown. I miss my friends already, I just want to pack them up and take them with me... Think anyone would notice if I kidnapped them?

New house, new work place, new school, hell new city. Have I mentioned I'm an EXTREME worrier. Heh most people don't know that. It's one of those submissive traits I hate in myself.

I changed the blog look. I was tired of the dark look. My comments wouldn't work either. I'll have to use it more often now for "My new life away from all my securities and the people I care about" Bright side is we got the 4 bedroom house so I can persuade them to come visit.

Think I'll go crawl in bed with Mark. I need some security right now...

It's been a long time since I posted... So much has happened...Summer semester is almost over and so far I've done well. We started playing WOW about a month ago - we're really enjoying.

Well I put my notice in Friday - it was a great feeling. I simply can not work for them, as many others feel. We are moving to Biloxi next week. Packing it all up, selling the house. I will miss Donna and Sari soooooooooo much. We'll find out tomorrow if we got the 4 bedroom house so I can make them come visit me :P It's only about 6 hours or 5 if Sari's driving>
The school there has the degree I want and we'll probably only be there 2 years. Susan and Tony are there, so is Dex. I just got back in touch with my sister - I hate to leave her too. Oh and I'm an Aunt! My niece is 9 monthes old - her name is Ava and she is beautiful. I never thought I'd be an aunt - go figure.

Well the Semester is over. I got straight A's - WooHoo! Summer semester starts back up on the 30th, so I've got 2 1/2 weeks of break. I've been trying to relearn somethings that I wasn't too strong on in Web class. The way it's going to work out so I can graduate Spring '07 is I have to 2 take 2 classes in the Fall that I don't have the prereqs for. Can we say tons of work. For the hard class I have to design a E-Commerce Web-Site from scratch. All the pics & the 3 sizes of each, have a "cart system", maintain state which I have to learn how to do over the Summer. If anyone knows of any good sites on learning Maintaining State please let me know. I'm going to go down to 3 days a week at work in the Fall so that should help.

Sari graduates tomorrow, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of her. Party to follow on Saturday night - ummm can we say TOASTY! hehe Well that's it for now...
